Lucknow, February 9, 2025 – BJP leader Anurag Thakur alleged on Sunday that Delhi Chief Minister Atishi danced after learning that AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged attempt to engineer her defeat had failed.
Thakur was commenting on a leaked video showing Atishi celebrating after her victory in the Kalkaji constituency. He claimed the election results had exposed internal rifts within AAP, as Atishi was one of the few leaders who won, while Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia faced defeat.
“Look at Kejriwal’s politics—he rose to power on the shoulders of Anna Hazare, sidelined him, then eliminated his own party’s founding members,” Thakur said. He further alleged that Kejriwal’s team worked against senior AAP leaders, only for him to face the same fate.
“Atishi’s name was missing from banners and posters. She was deliberately sidelined in the campaign, and attempts were made to defeat her. That’s why you see her dancing in the leaked video,” Thakur claimed.
According to him, Atishi’s celebration reflected the wider sentiment of Delhiites who were “relieved” at Kejriwal and Sisodia’s loss.
