Lucknow: In a press conference held in Lucknow, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav outlined the party’s strategy to bolster grassroots support within the Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA). Yadav raised concerns over the BJP’s governance, alleging threats to democracy and constitutional principles. He asserted the Samajwadi Party’s commitment to defending constitutional values in the face of rising inflation, unemployment, and safety issues, particularly for women in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav expressed confidence in the party’s ability to unseat the BJP in the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, the CBI issued a summons to Yadav regarding allegations of illegal sand mining during his tenure as chief minister, which he chose not to attend, citing other obligations. The case revolves around accusations of illegal mineral extraction in Hamirpur between 2012 and 2016, implicating government officials, including Yadav, who oversaw the mining portfolio during part of that period.
