New Delhi: Samajwadi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Kapil Sibal seems to be trapped in his statement on the Supreme Court. On Monday, All India Bar Association (AIBA) President Adish Agarwal termed Kapil Sibal’s remarks as contempt of court. He said it was not proper for him to dismiss judges and judgments just because the courts did not agree with the his or his colleagues’ arguments.
He said that Sibal has also been the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. If the decision is not as per his liking, it does not mean that the judicial system has failed, Agarwal said. Sibal is an integral part of the judicial system, Agarwal added, Sibal is free not to appear before the courts if he has indeed lost faith in the institution.
Former Law Minister and currently Rajya Sabha MP Sibal had said in his statement that if someone thinks they would get relief from the Supreme Court, then they are very wrong. He said he was saying this after completing 50 years of practice in the Supreme Court. He said there was now no hope left from the country’s highest court.
