New Delhi: Youth Congress workers blocked the railway track by stopping a train in Delhi amid protests across the country against the Agneepath scheme. Indian Youth Congress workers stopped a train and blocked a railway track at Delhi’s Shivaji Bridge railway station in protest against the Enforcement Directorate’s questioning of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Centre’s Agneepath recruitment plan.
Raising slogans, some of the protesting Youth Congress workers boarded the trains, while some blocked the tracks demanding the withdrawal of the Agneepath scheme.
Youth Congress has said in its statement that the Government of India needs to withdraw the Agniveer scheme. Youth Congress will fight for the unemployed youth of this country who want to serve the country and join its army.
Railway Police has deployed heavy security at railway stations in the capital to ensure safe movement of people amid the ongoing protests against the Agneepath scheme.
RPF’s Assistant Security Commissioner AP Josiah said that amid the call for Bharat Bandh, security at Nizamuddin railway station was beefed up to ensure safety of people and railway property. Train movement was not disrupted. Passengers are departing and arriving with ease.
