Aatmnirbhar Bharat Utsav Kickstarts at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi: Celebrating India’s Stride Towards Self-Reliance

In a significant ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal inaugurated the Aatmnirbhar Bharat Utsav on January 3, 2024. The festival, scheduled to run until January 10, aims to showcase and celebrate the nation’s commendable efforts in achieving self-reliance. Notably, entry to the event is free for all.

 

One of the highlights of the inauguration was the recognition of the winners of the national One District and One Product (ODOP) initiative. Minister Jaishankar praised the ODOP program, emphasizing its role in portraying the diverse facets of the country in a unique and tangible manner.

 

Minister Piyush Goyal, addressing the gathering, underscored the collective responsibility to make India self-reliant. He clarified that fostering self-reliance doesn’t imply isolation, stating that India remains open to collaboration. Goyal described the Aatmnirbhar Bharat Utsav as a representation of India’s growing prowess on the global stage.

 

The event promises to be a platform for showcasing and celebrating India’s journey towards self-reliance, resonating with the country’s emerging powers. The festival, featuring various activities and exhibitions, encourages citizens to join in the celebration of India’s strides toward self-sufficiency.”
