Bombay Tribune (Lucknow) According to Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla, roughly 6.72 lakh licenced guns have been submitted with police in Uttar Pradesh since the election code was implemented. In a statement, he stated that 862 weapons licences had been revoked.
Police have collected 4,767 arms, 5,003 bullets, 214 explosives units, and 109 bombs, he said, adding that 90 illicit arms manufacturing centres have been busted since the poll code was imposed. There have been 233 FIRs filed thus far for violations of the election law, 44 of which were filed on Friday.
Over 5.09 lakh gallons of liquor worth over Rs 10.43 crore have been confiscated by the excise and police authorities.
According to the Chief Electoral Office, the income tax department has recovered more than Rs 9.27 crore so far, with Rs 50.97 lakh in cash being retrieved on Friday.
