45,773 loudspeakers removed so far in UP

Lucknow: Amid the campaign of removal of loudspeakers in Uttar Pradesh, so far 45,773 loudspeakers have been taken down from various religious places in the state by Police and administration officials. At the same time, the sound of 58,861 loudspeakers has been reduced according to the standard.

Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has informed on Saturday that the orders of the state government are being strictly followed. After the consent of the gurus of all religions, removal of additional loudspeakers from religious places is being done. Some people have even removed the loudspeaker themselves.

Additional Chief Secretary of the State Home Department, Avnish Awasthi, while issuing the mandate, had directed all the Police Stations to remove illegally and excessively loud

speakers by running a special campaign. The report of the action taken has to be sent to the government by April 30 or action will be taken against the concerned station in-charge. After this, the police and the district administration started taking down the loudspeaker from April 26.
