Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab, fulfilling the guarantee given to the public before the elections, implemented the scheme of 300 units of electricity waiver from Friday.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann gave this information by tweeting. Before the Assembly elections in Punjab, AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal had announced to provide 300 units of free electricity. The Chief Minister started this work when the government was formed in March.
The Chief Minister had announced last month that the free electricity scheme would be implemented in Punjab from July 1. Mann on Friday tweeted with Arvind Kejriwal’s photo that Punjab has become the second state in the country after Delhi to provide free electricity.
Punjab Jail and Mines Minister Harjot Bains has said in a tweet that today is a historic day for Punjab. Kejriwal’s first guarantee is going to be implemented. Raghav Chadha, Rajya Sabha member from Punjab said that he is grateful to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for providing 300 units of free electricity to every household in Punjab.
