Dehradun (Uttarakhand), October 23, 2024—Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the early payment of salaries and pensions for state employees, pensioners, and family pensioners in anticipation of the Diwali festival. An official statement confirmed that these payments will be made before October 30, 2024.
The government order, issued by Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, has been communicated to all department heads, District Magistrates, and senior treasury officers. It specifies that salaries for state employees, as well as those in aided educational and technical institutions, urban local bodies, and other relevant sectors, will be processed ahead of the festival on October 31.
In addition to this timely disbursement, the Chief Minister has introduced various welfare measures for state employees. Recently, on September 23, the BJP government led by CM Dhami approved a 4% increase in the dearness allowance for employees across corporations, bodies, and authorities, effective from January 1, 2024.
This increase will also apply to both serving and retired personnel within panchayats, autonomous institutions, and public undertakings, ensuring that those on the fifth central pay scale benefit from the enhanced allowance starting from the same date.
These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce, especially during festive seasons, thereby fostering goodwill among employees and pensioners in Uttarakhand.
