Mumbai: A man linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, identified as Sukhbir Balbir Singh alias Sukha, has been arrested by Maharashtra police in Panipat, Haryana. This arrest is part of an investigation into an alleged plot to kill Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
Sukha was reportedly involved in conducting reconnaissance of Khan’s farmhouse near Panvel, Navi Mumbai. His arrest followed a joint operation between Punjab and Maharashtra police. Earlier this year, police uncovered a scheme targeting Salman Khan, which escalated after a firing incident outside his Bandra residence on April 14, where five suspects were apprehended.
The plan included using a minor to execute the attack, with a strategy to flee to Kanyakumari by boat and subsequently escape to Sri Lanka. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang had intended to use a Turkey-made pistol for the assassination—similar to the weapon used in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, for which the gang took responsibility.
