Amaravati, June 4: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy acknowledged the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP) defeat in the assembly polls, expressing confusion over the loss despite implementing numerous welfare measures free from corruption.
In a media briefing, Jagan, who secured a victory in the Pulivendula assembly segment with a majority of over 61,000 votes, affirmed the party’s commitment to the people and pledged to overcome the challenges ahead.
“I am ready to face the challenges. All the very best to the people (parties) who came to the government (came to power),” he stated, adding that the YSR Congress Party would act as “the voice of the voiceless.”
Jagan extended his congratulations to TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, and the BJP for their significant victory.
According to the latest tally, TDP secured 55 seats and is leading in 81, Janasena won 7 seats and is leading in 14, and BJP won 4 seats and is leading in 4.
The YSR Congress Party won three seats and is leading in seven others.
