Prayagraj: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has emphasised the importance of developing a population control policy in the country.

Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale, speaking at the end of the four-day meeting of the RSS’s Akhil Bhartiya Karyakari Mandal on Wednesday, expressed alarm over the country’s population explosion. This is especially crucial given the country’s low resources. Everyone must reflect on it and enact population control policies. There is a need to raise awareness and awakening about the problem,” he stated.

Hosabale went on to say that the Hindu population was declining, owing mostly to conversions occurring in border areas.

Many nations have been divided due to religious population imbalances. Because of this, India was also divided. Religion-based population balance was a critical issue that could no longer be overlooked. What type of education and healthcare would be available to the people if the population grew further?” he inquired. The four-day meeting also assessed the extension of organisational activity. By 2024, we hope to establish a’shakha’ in every division of the country. We’ve already met 99 percent of our goal. Shakhas may also be found in areas like Kerala,” he stated.

He also stated that the RSS will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, and that the meeting would explore plans to increase the number of its shakhas across the country.
