New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal has sent a letter along with Rakhi to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In this, he has been requested to get justice for Mandeep Kaur, who lives in New York. Mandeep committed suicide after getting fed up with the violence of his husband.
It is noteworthy that Mandeep Kaur, a resident of New York, committed suicide on August 03 due to domestic violence. She was troubled for a long time and had also recorded a video before committing suicide. This video is becoming quite viral. Along with this, some more videos have also surfaced in which Mandeep’s husband can be seen committing violence. Mandeep had also given a police complaint against the violence but withdrew it because of his two daughters.
Maliwal has written a letter to the External Affairs Minister saying that on Rakshabandhan, Dr S Jaishankar has written a letter with Rakhi to get justice for sister Mandeep. It has also demanded to ensure the safety of Indian women living abroad. Maliwal has requested that the External Affairs Minister help in bringing Mandeep’s body to India. Apart from this, make efforts to ensure proper care of Mandeep’s children.
He has requested that a lawyer be appointed by the ministry to provide justice so that the guilty husband can be arrested.
