New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has authorised party president JP Nadda and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to hold discussions with various political parties for the Presidential Election. The two leaders will hold discussions with independent leaders, including the constituents of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), and leaders of other political parties.
BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh informed this by issuing a press release on Sunday. He said that discussions would start soon from both the sides.
The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the election of the 15th President of the country. In case there is more than one candidate for the post, voting will be held on Monday, July 18, and results will be declared on July 21. The term of the current President Ram Nath Kovind ends on July 24.
