Maharajganj: A bomb exploded in Lumbini town of Uttar Pradesh on May 16, ahead of the expected arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There is no report of any casualties in the incident.
The act is believed to be an attempt to spread panic in the area. A letter from the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Maoist faction was found at the spot.
A blast had occurred at India-Nepal border Butwal town of Nepal, late on Wednesday. Nepal Police are investigating the matter.
According to Butwal DSP Dhak Bahadur KC, the bomb exploded at Milan Chowk in Butwal town after 12 am on Wednesday night. The explosion was so strong that the windows of the adjacent residential houses were shattered. The windows of 11 restaurants were also broken in the bombing. The perpetrators of the incident are not yet known. Police have refused to comment on the incident.
