Amaravathi: On Wednesday, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy convened a review meeting on district reorganisation and approved the formation of new districts on April 4 between 9:05 and 9:45 a.m.
The felicitation of volunteers will be held on April 6 and the Jagananna Vasathi Deevena will be implemented on April 8, according to a meeting held at the camp office here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister stated that the new districts should be linked to the targets set for long-term economic growth.
He directed the officials to finish locating suitable land for the construction of new administrative buildings in new districts, as well as to ensure that at least 15 acres of land are available.
The CM directed the officials to ensure that the District Collector’s and Superintendent of Police’s offices, as well as their camp offices, are all in the same complex, and to choose the best designs for those structures. In the proposed districts where buildings were taken on a rental basis, Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the officials to give priority to the construction of new buildings.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that they had received 16,600 suggestions and objections from the public regarding the new districts, and that they had been taken into consideration. They also stated that District Collectors had made recommendations after discussions with the people and public representatives.
They claimed to have prepared proposals for the formation and reorganisation of the new district administration after considering all issues, such as staff division, the six-point formula, and Presidential orders.
They stated that they had created a check list to ensure that all plans are on track, that they had created new websites and mechanisms for new districts, and that they had completed software changes in accordance.
They also stated that handbooks with information on new districts had been prepared. The officials informed the Chief Minister that the District Collector and SP offices and camp offices in the new districts had been finalised, and that government buildings were chosen whenever possible, and private buildings were leased where government buildings were not available.
