New Delhi: After 2014, 27 new domestic air cargo facilities will be created to improve commodities transportation. General (retd.) V. K. Singh, Minister of State in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, provided this information in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
He stated in this written declaration that India had 11 domestic air cargo terminals and 19 international air cargo terminals as of 2014. Airports Authority of India (AAI) / AAI Cargo Logistics and Allied Services Company Limited (AAICLAS) has built another 27 domestic air cargo terminals since the Modi government came to power. Additionally, there are Joint Venture (JV)/ Public Private Partnership (PPP) and State Government Airports that are in the process of constructing domestic and international air cargo terminals. As a result, the cargo handling capacity has been significantly increased, allowing for speedier goods flow.
AAICLAS is dedicated to the development of cargo handling facilities through the installation of domestic cargo terminals in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, depending on cargo volume feasibility. As a result, AAICLAS built an additional 27 domestic air cargo facilities after 2014 at Amritsar, Madurai, Mangalore, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Indore, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Aurangabad, Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Goa, Srinagar, Ranchi, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Vijayawada, Bagdogra, Jammu, Leh, Surat, Bhopal, Dehradun, Rajahmundry, Tirupati and Hubballi.
