Campaigning is in full swing for Assembly Elections

The high-pitch electoral campaign for the first two phases of the Seven-Phase Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, as well as the Single-Phase polls in Goa and Uttarakhand, is in full swing. Following the selection of the candidates for the first two phases, the Star Campaigners and prominent leaders of various political parties held public rallies. Door-to-door canvassing and virtual voter appeals are also ongoing. Political campaigns have also begun in other poll-bound states such as Punjab and Manipur.

Meanwhile, following the withdrawal of candidates last evening, the picture of the electoral battle in the Third Phase of Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh became clear, with mostly multi-cornered contests on the cards. There are 627 candidates vying for 59 seats in this phase. The Third Phase will be held on February 20th in 59 Assembly Constituencies from 16 districts.
A total of 1000 304 candidates are in the running for the Single-Phase polling in all 117 Assembly Constituencies in Punjab. The election would take place on February 20.

Nominations for the Fourth Phase of Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh were scrutinised yesterday. During the examination, 652 nominations were found to be valid. The deadline for withdrawing from consideration is February 7th. Nominations are being accepted for the Fifth Phase of the UP Elections, as well as the First of Two-Phase Polling in Manipur.

Nominations can be submitted until February 8th, and the scrutiny will begin on February 9th. The deadline for withdrawing from consideration is February 11th. With the issuance of notification yesterday, the process of filing nominations for the Sixth of Seven-Phase Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, as well as the Second and Last Phase polling in Manipur, began. Nominations can be submitted until February 11th, and the scrutiny will begin on February 14th. The deadline for withdrawing from consideration is February 16th.

The First of Seven-Phase Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh will feature mostly multi-cornered contests, with 623 candidates vying for 58 seats in this phase. In the Second Phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh, 586 candidates are running for 55 Assembly seats, while 301 candidates are running for 40 seats in Goa’s Single-Phase polls and 632 candidates are running for 70 seats in Uttarakhand.

The second phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 14th in 55 Assembly Constituencies spread across nine districts. Furthermore, single-phase voting will take place simultaneously in two states: Goa and Uttarakhand. In this phase, elections will be held for 40 seats in Goa and 70 seats in Uttarakhand.

The fourth phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 23rd in 59 Assembly Constituencies spread across nine districts. The Fifth Phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh will take place on February 27th in 61 Assembly Constituencies spread across 12 districts. In addition, the first of two phases of voting in Manipur will take place at the same time. This phase will see 38 seats from six districts go to the polls. The Sixth Phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh will take place on March 3rd in 57 Assembly Constituencies spread across 10 districts. Furthermore, the Second and Final Phase polling in Manipur will take place concurrently.Twenty two seats in Manipur will go to polls in this phase. In the Second Phase of Assembly Elections in Manipur, 22 seats spread over ten districts will go to polls.
