Political parties are attempting to woo voters by fielding top Punjabi singers in the Punjab Assembly elections.

With the growing popularity of Punjabi pop culture, political parties believe that bringing in well-known singers will draw crowds and connect with them.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moosewala, a popular Punjabi singer, has been nominated by the Congress Party for the Mansa seat. The Election Commission on Saturday extended the ban on rallies and roadshows in five polling states until January 31, but allowed public meetings of up to 500 people in assembly constituencies voting in the first two phases.
