New Delhi: The Supreme Court has ordered transfer of the murder case trial of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s uncle and former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy from Andhra Pradesh to the CBI court in Hyderabad. A bench headed by Justice MR Shah gave this order.

Vivekananda Reddy was murdered in March 2019, at his residence in Cuddapah. The Andhra Pradesh High Court, in 2020, ordered a CBI inquiry into the matter. The petition was filed by Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunita Nareddy.

Sunita accused some YSR Congress leaders of killing her father, alleging that the Jaganmohan Reddy government is protecting the criminals. During the hearing, the CBI demanded to shift the trial of the case to Karnataka. The CBI said that Jaganmohan Reddy’s government could influence the trial by shifting the case to Hyderabad in Telangana.
