254 Road Projects Sanctioned for 2023-24
New Delhi/Shimla: Union Minister for Road Transport, Nitin Gadkari, informed Lok Sabha that under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Himachal Pradesh has been sanctioned 254 road projects covering 2,683 kilometers of roads and 22 bridges for the 2023-24 financial year. Among all districts, Kangra received the highest number of road projects, while Lahaul-Spiti received the least.
District-Wise Project Allocation
- Bilaspur: 185 km (19 projects)
- Chamba: 167 km + 1 bridge (17 projects)
- Hamirpur: 178 km (21 projects)
- Kangra: 502 km + 5 bridges (55 projects)
- Kullu: 103 km + 1 bridge (10 projects)
- Lahaul-Spiti: 64 km (7 projects)
- Mandi: 322 km (23 projects)
- Shimla: 549 km (46 projects)
- Sirmaur: 163 km (12 projects)
- Solan: 291 km + 4 bridges (25 projects)
- Una: 159 km + 11 bridges (19 projects)
No Financial Support from NABARD
Gadkari also stated that NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) has not provided financial assistance for any PMGSY projects in 2023-24 under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).
