Officials and Social Workers Play a Key Role

Shimla: To enhance coordination between schools and society, the Himachal Pradesh government launched the ‘Apna Vidyalaya – Himachal School Adoption Program’. Under this initiative, 3,094 schools have been adopted across the state. The 2025 Economic Survey highlights this figure, showing significant interest from government officials and social workers. Since its launch, the program has led to notable improvements in school conditions. Officials adopting schools also conduct regular inspections to ensure progress.

Educational Support Teams in Schools

The program encourages retired teachers, professionals, homemakers, and other community members to participate. Schools have formed educational support teams to assist students, especially when teachers are unavailable.

Mentors to Provide Suggestions

Officials adopting schools serve as mentors, offering suggestions to teachers and school management committees to improve education and facilities.
