Chandigarh, February 9 — Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has approved a significant investment of over Rs. 239.35 crore for various infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the state’s road network and water supply systems. These projects, which span several constituencies across Haryana, aim to improve road connectivity, upgrade water facilities, and foster overall regional development.
Among the key projects approved, Rs. 903.18 lakh has been allocated under the SCSP (Scheduled Caste Sub Plan) scheme for the construction of 12 roads in the Sadhaura constituency of Yamunanagar and Naraingarh in Ambala district. These roadworks are expected to boost transportation and provide better accessibility for local communities. Additionally, the Chief Minister sanctioned a revised cost of Rs. 3736.30 lakh for the construction of a Western Bypass stretching from Kaithal Road to Munak Road in Ghogripur Village, Karnal. This bypass will cover a significant distance from 6.180 km to 11.100 km and is expected to ease traffic congestion, facilitating smoother connectivity in the region.
Another major initiative under the Chief Minister’s approval is the expansion of the Panipat-Safidon-Jind road (SH-14). With an allocation of Rs. 184.44 crore, the project aims to widen the road and develop a four-lane stretch from Panipat to Safidon, alongside an additional widening of 10 meters from Safidon to Jind. This improvement will enhance road infrastructure, supporting both commercial activities and daily commutes for residents.
In terms of water supply, the Chief Minister has also approved Rs. 405.88 lakh for the renovation of water works and the installation of DI pipelines in Patuwas village, located in Charkhi Dadri district. This project falls under the “Gramin Jal Aapurti Samvardhan Karyakram” (Rural Water Supply Augmentation Programme). The renovation will strengthen existing water storage tanks, construct new filter beds, build a clear water tank, and improve the internal distribution system, ensuring better access to clean and safe drinking water for the village’s residents.
Further, in the Adampur constituency of Hisar, Rs. 445.65 lakh has been approved for the repair and improvement of four roads. These include important repairs such as from Chuli Khurd to Mehrana up to the state border and from Chuli Khurd to Biran. The upgrades are designed to provide smoother, safer routes for local communities and enhance regional connectivity.
In a significant move toward enhancing cybersecurity in the state, the Chief Minister has also approved the establishment of two new cyber crime police stations. One will be set up in Eastern Gohana for the Sonipat Commissionerate, and the other in Bahadurgarh for the Jhajjar Commissionerate. These cyber crime units will be equipped with a team comprising both male and female officers, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, constables, and technical experts. The new cyber crime stations are expected to strengthen law enforcement capabilities and address the growing challenges posed by cybercrime. The establishment of these stations will incur an additional annual financial burden of Rs. 8,89,50,906 on the state’s exchequer for salaries and operational costs.
These approvals reflect Haryana’s commitment to improving infrastructure, water supply, and cybersecurity, thus contributing to the state’s long-term growth and the well-being of its residents.
