Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has issued fresh administrative reshuffles, appointing Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Nitish Rajora as the new Director of Information, J&K. The department plays a crucial role in managing the government’s public relations.
Rajora, an IAS officer from the AGMUT 2021 cadre, was previously posted as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jammu (North). He replaces Jatin Kishore, IAS (AGMUT: 2020), who was handling additional responsibilities as Additional Secretary in the LG’s Secretariat alongside his role as Director of Information. Kishore has now been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ganderbal.
In another key transfer, the LG has appointed IAS officer Shishir Gupta (AGMUT: 2020) as Deputy Commissioner, Shopian. Gupta, who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, replaces senior Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officer Shahid Saleem Dar. Dar has been directed to report to the General Administration Department for further posting.
Additionally, Rakesh Kumar, IAS (AGMUT: 2021), who was previously serving as SDM, Hiranagar, has been transferred and posted as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu.
Shubhankar Pratyush Pathak, IAS (AGMUT: 2022), previously SDM, Akhnoor, Jammu, has been reassigned as SDM, Uri, Baramulla. He takes over from Javid Ahmad Rather, JKAS, who has been instructed to report to the General Administration Department for his next posting.
