In a shocking and barbaric crime that has left the nation in disbelief, a 39-year-old ex-serviceman has been arrested for the brutal murder of his wife. The police have described the incident as “rarest of the rare” and “utterly barbaric,” revealing chilling details of how the accused dismembered his wife’s body, boiled her remains, and flushed them down the toilet in a day-long gruesome operation.
The accused, identified as P Gurumurthy, allegedly killed his 35-year-old wife, Madhavi, following a heated argument on January 16. According to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Gurumurthy smashed his wife’s head against a wall during the altercation, causing her to collapse. He then strangled her to death in a fit of rage.
What followed was a horrifying attempt to cover up the crime. Gurumurthy reportedly cut his wife’s body into small pieces, placed them in a bucket, and boiled the remains using a water heater. He then burned the body parts on a gas stove and crushed the bones into powder using a stone roller. The bone powder and flesh were flushed down the toilet multiple times, while smaller bone remnants were discarded in a household trash bin.
To avoid suspicion, Gurumurthy kept the kitchen windows and doors open to minimize the foul smell during the burning process. The entire gruesome act reportedly took place between 10 AM and 6 PM on January 16. After disposing of the evidence, he meticulously cleaned the bathroom with detergent and phenyl to remove any traces of the crime.
Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu expressed his horror at the crime, stating, “This is the ultimate act of barbarism. It is unimaginable how a person could behave in such a manner. This is undoubtedly one of the rarest and most heinous crimes we have ever encountered.”
Gurumurthy, who worked as a security guard at a defense establishment, initially tried to mislead investigators. He even accompanied his in-laws to file a missing person complaint at the Meerpet police station on January 18. However, during intense interrogation, he confessed to the murder and revealed the horrifying details of how he disposed of his wife’s body.
The couple, originally from Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh, had two children. Gurumurthy had reportedly left the children at a relative’s house before carrying out the murder.
Police have collected scientific evidence from the crime scene, which will be submitted to the court. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to ensure that justice is served in this gruesome case.
This horrifying incident has sent shockwaves across the community, raising questions about domestic violence and the lengths to which individuals can go to conceal their crimes. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any signs of domestic abuse to prevent such tragedies in the future.
